iGaming.com has become an official Quality Mark Responsible Affiliates (QMRA) member. This partnership aims to make affiliate marketing more trustworthy and responsible. Check out our article to learn more about the company’s goals and why iGaming.com joined the QMRA.

What Is QMRA?

The Quality Mark Responsible Affiliates (QMRA) is a certification program for iGaming affiliate marketing companies. It was founded in February 2024 by Steven Vrolijk and helps verify that affiliates comply with country-specific gambling regulations. Though based in the Netherlands, QMRA operates internationally and currently certifies affiliates in multiple regulated markets, including:

  • Spain
  • UK
  • Norway
  • Denmark
  • Germany
  • Sweden
  • Belgium
  • Netherlands

Steven Vrolijk is also the founder of XY Legal Solutions and the KVA, the Netherlands’ version of the QMRA. Following the success of the KVA, Vrolijk decided to expand into other markets with the QMRA. He has years of experience in affiliate marketing regulation, so you can be certain this organization is a true mark of quality.

Why iGaming.com Is Partnering with QMRA

iGaming.com is preparing to launch a portfolio of Danish websites. As such, it became a member of QMRA, so the organization could certify that its websites comply with Denmark’s regulations. The websites will be assessed based on QMRA’s compliance framework, which follows the Danish Act on Gambling to shape its requirements.

“We are very pleased that iGaming.com has chosen to join the QMRA. Their decision shows that the need for reliable, structured compliance is gaining momentum.”

For example, companies can’t advertise to people under 18 to operate in the Danish market. Some of the other rules for affiliates in Denmark include portraying gambling as a form of entertainment and having a webpage with information on responsible gambling and the relevant tools.

QMRA Updates Its Rules

Recently, the QMRA has also begun updating its standards for certifying affiliates. Currently, the organization uses a strict six-step process to evaluate companies, but they are being revised to also reflect Google’s EEAT demands and some new guidelines. To become a member, sites have to:

  • Submit application – Affiliates must apply for each individual site they want verified.
  • Pay fee – Affiliates will get general information and must pay a fee of €695 per website, with a discount for three or more.
  • Pass compliance check – The legal team will write a report based on a detailed compliance check. Requirements vary for each market.
  • Act on feedback – QMRA will send the report to the affiliate, so they can improve.
  • Pass second check – once the affiliate implements the feedback, QMRA conducts a second check. If it passes, it becomes a member.
  • Display logo – The affiliate can now display QMRA’s logo and hyperlink on their website for a year.

The organization will now add a new section to its certification procedure called Company Verification and Relationship with QMRA. This entails verifying the affiliate’s identity to ensure it’s a legitimate business and confirm that it receives regular compliance checks. Adding this step strengthens the credibility and transparency of affiliates, and of QMRA itself.

iGaming.com and Responsible Gambling

Meanwhile, iGaming.com is also satisfied with the partnership. Meeting QMRA’s requirements means the company complies with Danish regulations and can advertise in the country. iGaming.com shares QMRA’s objective of improving regulatory compliance and ensuring responsible affiliate marketing. The company’s Danish websites are being evaluated for an initial report.

“At iGaming.com, compliance and trust are not only priorities, but also the foundation of our identity. We are committed to promoting safe and responsible gambling, driven by both ethical conviction and long-term business integrity.”

Prof. Dr. Andreas Ditsche, CEO, iGaming.com Group GmbH

The CEO of iGaming.com, Dr. Andreas Ditsche, believes players should be aware of legal gambling options. Banning gambling or making it too restrictive will only force people towards the black market, which is why legal operators need to be advertised. He also stresses why it’s important to help people gamble responsibly.

iGamingcare Initiatives

One way iGaming.com helps players is through its iGamingcare initiative. It provides detailed information on responsible gambling tools, such as self-exclusion, and even features the latest news about gambling laws like Kenya’s 30-day ban on advertisement. Dr. Andreas Ditsche also hosts a podcast with a variety of expert guests on topics like:

  • Gambling Addiction
  • Gambling Laws
  • Mental Health and Gambling

The website has a self-assessment, so visitors can check their gambling behavior and find tools to help them prevent addiction. iGaming.com is dedicated to protecting players and providing a safe experience. That’s why it’s excited about the partnership with QMRA, as it will allow it to be more effective in its channelization efforts.

QMRA Researches Deposit Limits

Aside from examining affiliates, the QMRA also researches the markets themselves. They’ve looked into Germany’s €1000 deposit limits to see how well they help keep players on legal sites. The organization concludes the limits are well-intentioned but may be too rigid and suggests improvements like individualized deposit limits.

“You can’t save people by kicking them out of the legal system.”

Prof. Dr. Andreas Ditsche, CEO, iGaming.com Group GmbH

Dr. Andreas Ditsche shares this sentiment, which he expressed at the Gaming in Holland convention. He believes the regulations are too strict and players would be more willing to turn towards the black market. The German market needs to be less restrictive on games with functions like spin delays.

Conclusion

QMRA and iGaming.com are committed to developing this partnership further. It ensures the Danish websites comply with all regulations, and this can help players find safe, legitimate casinos. Both companies continue to encourage safer play through their variety of initiatives and research.
